Step 2: add the job title with synonyms

Wrap exact titles in quotes and group variants with OR inside parentheses: ("software engineer" OR "backend developer"). Think in candidate language, not job-description language.

A posting says "cloud platforms," but people write AWS, Azure, or GCP on their profiles. Search the words candidates actually use.

Step 3: layer in must-have skills

Add skills in their own parentheses group so the logic stays clean: (Python OR Django). Keep boolean operators uppercase.

Google is forgiving about case, but the uppercase habit saves you when you take the same string to LinkedIn or Bing, where lowercase and/or get treated as ordinary words.
