The Public Relations Director will contribute to a broad range of Firmwide PR and communications activities and execute PR programs that communicate Kirkland's unique culture and differentiated services, enhance the Firm's reputation and support its core practice areas. The specialist will primarily focus on media relations - building and fostering relationships with key media - drafting and editing materials including press releases, deal announcements, media pitches and internal communications content. As part of a team with a hands on, get-it-done ethos, the specialist will also handle some tasks related to research and information gathering, media monitoring and reporting, and maintaining / developing organizational tools and databases. The Public Relations Director will bring outstanding writing, editing and grammar skills to their work. Intellectual curiosity and the ability to distill complex topics into concise, easy-to-read language will be important, as will be interest in exploring creative ways of communicating and new technologies. The ideal candidate must be a strong verbal communicator and critical thinker. You will possess excellent organizational and project management skills, outstanding editing and proofing skills, the ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment, a strong attention to detail and a professional and polished demeanor. Excellent judgment and discretion in handling confidential or sensitive information is necessary. Prior PR agency experience and familiarity with professional services is preferred. Strong skills in MS Office software is required. Familiarity with social media tools, media monitoring tools, media databases and website content management systems is a plus.
