Responsibilities include satisfying inventory needs, issuing parts/tools, performing order tracking and inventory control, in addition to ordering through receipt of items. This role requires a high level of internet and keyboarding skills and the ability to interact with all levels of the organization to achieve department goals. Along with being actively involved in the support of Safety, Quality, and Good Manufacturing Practices and Preventative Maintenance programs.

An Inventory Specialist performs inventory control activities to provide a wide variety of materials in a timely, efficient, and cost-effective manner for the assigned inventories by professional standards and established internal procedures. Work includes initiating/controlling the amount/type of supply acquisitions, reviewing incoming supplies to avoid duplication and control overstocking, and implementing effective par leveling to facilitate the rapid turnover of products.
