Establishes and maintains a comprehensive school health program according to nursing standards of practice and departmental Maintains communicable disease prevention and control measures and in some instances administers immunizations to protect students and others in accordance with state and local health department regulations and districts policies and department protocol.
Provides episodic and emergency health care to ill or injured students/employees.
Prepares paperwork to help route children to medical services and social services so that each child can achieve optimum academic and social development.
Assess the health and developmental status of students through performance of student’s evaluations and health appraisals. Performs special procedures. Develops and implements nursing care plans with specific nursing interventions.
Make provisions for being available to students and parents for education related purposes outside of the instructional day when required or requested to do so under reasonable terms.
- Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, agency policy, and administrative regulations.

Requirements & Skills 1

Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, Nutrition Education, Public Health or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
2 years’ experience working as an RN preferred
Current Registered Nurse required
Current State Vision and Hearing Certification or ability to obtain one within 6 months of employment
Current CPR/ First Aid Instructors Certification or ability to obtain one within 6 months or employment
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written directions.
