Practicing safe lifting and techniques, transports patients by assisting patients in and out of cars, lifting patients on and off beds, and moving patients to and from special services and treatment areas using wheelchairs, gurneys, or moveable beds.
- Transports medications, patient charts, specimens, and blood appropriately as directed.

Requires demonstrated communication skills to interact with courtesy, tact, empathy, and professionalism in daily interaction with patients, their families, clinical licensed and non-licensed staff, physicians, and management.
Ability to understand and follow directions, ability to comply with HIPAA confidentiality requirements.

- Requires the ability to organize and prioritize transports and other work.
- Requires basic keyboarding skills and demonstrated familiarity with Microsoft Office software (MS Word), and the ability to become familiar with hospital information.

Transports patients to and from inpatient units, surgery, therapy, radiology, and other areas.

Retrieves medical records, laboratory specimens, supplies, and medications as required.

- Resolves routine questions, issues and problems; refers more complex issues to higher levels.
