You will work as an expert in facilities and material handling system maintenance, including oversight on maintenance matters within the building, and advanced material handling systems such as robotics, barcode scanning equipment, picking and packing systems, conveyors, and sortation systems. You will manage a team of several maintenance technicians focused on performing corrective, predictive, and preventative maintenance procedures for material handling equipment, conveyor and control systems, robotics, and associated scanning equipment.

Requirements & Skills 1

10+ years of light industrial maintenance experience
3+ years' experience managing maintenance technicians
Understanding of mechanical power transmission and electrical power or machine controls, mechanical and electrical design, layout fabrication, and repair practices as they apply to power transmission and conveyor belt applications.
Experience with HVAC, plumbing, electrical, welding, and whole-facility maintenance.
Forklift Factory repair certification
Knowledge of motors and motor control methods.
- Experience with electrical and mechanical troubleshooting techniques.

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for most routine and preventative maintenance aspects of the distribution center including all buildings, grounds, equipment (including but not limited to; conveyor, lift trucks, Computer and Networking equipment, scales), receiving / shipping pads, racking and parking lots. Ensures the quality, timeliness, cost-effectiveness, and regulatory compliance of distribution center facility and equipment. The Maintenance Manager assists Director with employee relation concerns including payroll, recruiting, performance reviews, policy communication and enforcement, and conflict resolution. Provides a safe, healthy, and secure work environment for employees by assisting the Director in continually addressing all ergonomic or health issues.

Provides a safe, healthy, and secure work environment for employees by assisting the Director in and enforcing company safety, ergonomics, egress, hazardous training/Right to know, waste disposal (hazardous and regular), loss prevention and other related programs; creating and enforcing site-specific addendums to such policies; performing and monitoring proactive reviews of such programs; and communicating issues/infractions to upper management and taking appropriate action regarding offenses. Suggest distribution center layout and equipment changes to improve material handling, facility utilization, security, and safety.
Provide for proper routine and preventative maintenance through proper scheduling of maintenance and employees, planning, use of PC-based work request system, and training of personnel to ensure that the facility and equipment are maintained to ensure safe and optimum use.
Assist the Director in evaluating the performance of subordinate employees, carrying out disciplinary actions (including recommending discharge), and determining work schedules.
Assist the Director in process of filling open positions within the department. Train new or reassigned employees in job duties and operating procedures. Promote the ongoing training and development of employees in building an effective and motivated workforce to stay abreast of technology
Monitor and control the slot maintenance program by correctly entering changes and monitoring the efficiency and skills of the program that relate to the maintenance of the facility.
Provide a positive work environment to maintain a union-free environment.
- Ensure good communications with department managers, warehouse staff, vendors, and corporate office to ensure that the facility is in good working condition and to ensure that all repairs are done in a timely, efficient, and cost-effective manner.
- Assisting the Director with budget preparation for facility maintenance and maintaining efficient cost control by operating within the operational budget set for the distribution center.
