Prepares written reports, maps and statements of geologic, hydrologic, biologic and/or other scientific findings at project site as it relates to the planning, design and construction of projects.
Collects project related data which may include research, interviews with government agencies and clients, map reviews, field investigations, land use, etc., prepare graphics and exhibits.
Determines data collection methods to be used in research projects and surveys.
Sets up test equipment at proposed project site to obtain scientific data.
- Maintains records, collections and files related to specific projects.
- Keeps current with trends, literature and new developments in ecology and environmental science.

The Historian gathering documents, conducting oral history interviews, and obtaining other sources of information about the history of the Center for inclusion in the archive and generation of historical publications. Duties include researching, planning, and writing publications on the history of the center, oral history interviews, articles, historical monograms, and manuscripts.

Research, plan, and conduct oral history interviews with identified people.
Coordinating transcription of audio and video interviews.
Edit returned transcriptions in accordance with standard oral history practices and provide transcriptions (with required review/approval agreements) to interviewees for review.
Organize history office symposia and other engagements as requested.
Research and write history papers for presentation at professional societies and other venues as requested.
