A Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) is responsible for performing physical examinations, utilizing diagnostic testing, making diagnoses, and managing the treatment of common episodic women's health problems. Midwifery care includes the management of primary health screening, health promotion, and the provision of care from adolescence through the lifespan as well as the neonatal period. This includes care related to preconception, pregnancy, labor, birth, postpartum recovery, normal newborn recovery, infant feeding including human lactation, comprehensive gynecologic/reproductive/sexual health care, and post-menopausal care.
