We are hiring for a Patient Account Representative to assist with updating patient medical accounts and working closely with the rest of the team. The Patient Account Representative will edit and/or prepare UB, CMS 1500, ADA and other utilized billing forms via paper or electronic means; Analyze financial information to determine patient ability to pay or qualification for financial assistance; Analyze credit balances in order to determine appropriate action. The position will also be responsible to prepare accounts receivable adjustments; Utilize available resources to obtain eligibility information; Update patient demographic and financial information; Communicate with Medical Centers' staff, patients and payers, as required to obtain or verify billing information or payment; Answer questions, resolve concerns and document specific actions taken on individual accounts in the Epic Hospital Billing and/or Professional Billing systems.
This position is responsible for considering the status of the entire patient account and for exercising judgment to determine appropriate course of action to bring account to resolution.

We are seeking a Patient Account Representative to join our team!
As the Patient Account Representative, you will monitor assigned patient accounts for accurate and timely payment of claims by managing work queue, aging lists, and claims correspondence; reviews claim denials for problem areas; resubmits claims and files appeals as necessary.
The Patient Account Representative provides administrative support to the daily verifications operations within the assigned function(s). The incumbent ensures data accuracy and integrity of patient information through the verification process. The Patient Account Representative works with cross-divisional teams in the identification and resolution of outstanding issues within the assigned function(s).
The Patient Account Representative is responsible for follow-up on rejected claims; assist patients with account questions demonstrating caring and compassion through verbal and written communications; review accounts that have a balance in which the patient is responsible in order to determine collection status; identify credits on accounts.
The Patient Account Representative works under the direction of the Patient Financial Service Manager. Is engaged in activities relating to the collection of payment and/or resolution of self-pay balance accounts.
According to established procedures, the Patient Account Representative obtains demographic, medical, and insurance information at bedside for patients in the Emergency Department; enters necessary information into computer records; and performs various other clerical and record keeping tasks related to registration.
