We currently have an opportunity for a Health Information Technology (HIT) to ensure records are properly created and stored and that they are easily accessible to medical professionals as needed for ongoing care. The Health Information Technology is responsible for the retrieving and filing of documents, and chart organization of patient records within the HIT Department, retrieving and reconciling medical records from ancillary departments, copying medical records, and processing loose reports. Responsibilities also include scanning and indexing documentation received in the HIT department.

Health Information Technology (HIT) is responsible for developing, implementing, maintaining, and monitoring information management standards and systems to support the patient record. The Health Information Technology is responsible for supporting all on-site Health Information Technology workflows. This position is responsible for providing technical expertise, support, administration, and project management for health technology systems that help measure or enhance population health initiatives and program enrollments through enhanced data access and utilization among members and community partners. In addition, Health Information Technology will provide customer service to callers/visitors to the Departments as appropriate.

Health Information Technology performs a variety of functions in the Health Information Management department by departmental policies and procedures. Responsible for assuring that medical records are received, processed, and scanned, in a timely and accurate manner to support patient care and patient billing. Analyze inpatient and outpatient records for deficiencies, and monitors weekly delinquency statistics. Coordinates, trains, and assists clinicians in records completion activities. Responsible for disclosure of requested Protected Health Information (PHI) according to Federal/State laws and regulations.
