The Fleet Manager role reports to the General Manager and has a direct impact on the success of the business. You will be directly responsible for the day-to-day operation, namely fleet maintenance activities, partner scheduling and training, and parking lot operations and control as well as the implementation of standardized processes. This role requires physical presence at the company parking lot. You must exhibit a hands-on management style coupled with the interpersonal skills necessary to work with driver partners to ensure they are meeting expectations and, when necessary, coach driver partners to ensure an effective operation.

The Fleet Manager carries out various administrative tasks related to equipment and fleet management including retail fuel card program, GPS telematics and other systems deployed across the Fleet. Executes transfers and other forms related to keeping the systems accurate and up to date. Generates, distributes, and follows up on scheduled reports. Monitors and troubleshoots GPS-enabled Fleet assets across the business and provides regular and ad-hoc reporting to leadership. Responsible to take appropriate actions in process workflows involving transfers, asset commissioning / de-commissioning, purchase orders, safety assessments and other key Fleet processes.

The main objectives of the Fleet Manager position are to lead, motivate, and effectively manage a team of mechanics and fabricators to safely maintain, repair and provide innovative solutions for the vehicles, equipment all other mechanical equipment necessary for all department operational needs. The Fleet Manager will lead and promote a safe working environment with standard operation guidelines for the inventory of parts, timely scheduling of preventative maintenance and repairs, and ensure compliance with all licensing, DOT, OSHA and EPA regulations for the operation of all trucks, trailers and equipment. Additional responsibilities would include monitoring the safety, quality and productivity of the work performed by shop department team and providing constructive feedback and coaching to help staff develop professionally. The Fleet Manager is expected to be a key member of the management team by actively participating in strategic planning, safety development, management staff, recruitment / selection and staffing and quarterly and annual budget review and development needs.
