Performs operator maintenance on equipment operated.
Performs the work of a Rigger when Crane Operator duties have been satisfied and on other occasions as the workload for the primary duty above permits.

The Crane Operator is responsible for the safe functioning of rigging and application of straps and other rigging to loads or transportation by cranes, or other material handling equipment. Directs crane operators. Operate overhead crane to move materials and products throughout the plant.

Duties & Responsibilities 2

Procure and inspect rigging, attach rigging to load, check travel path, sound whistle, signal crane operator, guide load to destination, position load, detach rigging and return to the storage rack
Climb the vertical ladder (to 25'), inspect the crane and cab, complete inspection forms, operate the crane (4 hand levers, 1-foot brake), and fill orders for steel
