The Pharmacy Director will serve as the department lead for the Pharmacy. This position must ensure high-quality pharmaceutical care and pharmaceutical products are provided to Student Health customers. The selected candidate will serve as the liaison for local, state, and national professional organizations. The Pharmacy Director is responsible for maintaining regulatory compliance with accrediting bodies, and authors and establishes rules and procedures for SHS pharmacy. The Director manages pharmacy employees including performing annual evaluations and developing work plans and leads budget recommendations and yearly planning for all pharmacy expenditures.

The Pharmacy Director is responsible for assisting in developing and executing the strategic priorities of the clinical pharmacy services and programs for the Company and its subsidiary organizations. This includes working collaboratively with pharmacy services operational leadership, health services leadership, and the VP of Pharmacy Services, providing direction to all clinical pharmacy staff, and working with leaders throughout the organization to ensure corporate and Pharmacy Services goals are achieved. Key areas of focus for the position include P&T Committee leadership, formulary development, and administration, utilization management, contract negotiation, vendor oversight, expansion of clinical pharmacy services, provider collaboration, and member education. The position is also chiefly responsible for managing pharmacy costs, improving pharmacy-related quality metrics, reducing pharmacy operating costs, and improving the health of the community. In addition, this position is responsible for the managed care residency program, pharmacy students, and pharmacy interns. In all aspects of the position, it is the responsibility of the Director of Clinical Pharmacy Services to ensure compliance with all Federal, State, and PacificSource policies.

We are seeking a Pharmacy Director focused on clinical innovation in pharmacy programs and population health tactics that support direct providers in providing high-quality care within a value-based budget that puts the member/patient first in all aspects of comprehensive primary care and specialty care services. The successful candidate will be a clinically trained pharmacist with expertise collaborating with primary care providers, intensivists, and specialists as well as a health plan, population health, and other administrative program leaders to deliver high-quality pharmacy benefit services that are affordable. Focus will include cell and gene therapies, as well as designated key drugs used in key therapies, and will include oversight and innovating change needed based on the emerging pipeline to achieve affordability. Key focus areas include formulary compliance, real-time benefits tools, place-in-therapy, the total cost of care, and contracting considerations plus focused efforts to engage medical sub-specialists, primary care providers, and care managers responsible for delivering the Providence promise of “know me, care for me, ease my way.”
