The purpose of the Lube Technician position is to ensure that all lubrication-related tasks are completed effectively and efficiently for a Plant. The Lube Technician position is responsible for equipment lubrication, contamination control, inspection, and proactive maintenance activities for all lubricated mechanical systems. Lubrication tasks include and are not limited to re-lubricating equipment, retro-fitting equipment with reliable components, inspecting and proactively maintaining lubrication systems, sampling oil reservoirs, filtering oil reservoirs, maintaining all storage rooms, preparing lubricant transportation devices for plant use, completing Time-Based Lubrication PM’s and assisting Maintenance Technicians to complete lubrication tasks within Time-Based Maintenance PMs. This position interacts regularly with operators and all personnel on the Maintenance Team.

Complete re-lubrication routes.
While re-lubricating equipment perform visual inspections.
Top-up oil reservoirs as needed while completing re-lubrication routes and/or lubrication preventive maintenance.
Maintain and refill all Centralized Lubrication Systems and Single Point Automatic Lubricators.
Change oil, oil filters, air breathers, etc. as directed by Lubrication PMs or as a follow-up to condition-based monitoring.
Retro-fit equipment with components such as air breathers, sight glasses, hydraulic quick connects, and pitot sampling tubes to enable other tasks like oil sampling, portable filtration, and oil changes.
- Portably filter oil reservoirs to remove contaminates and prolong remaining useful oil life.
- Maintain all lubricant inventory storage rooms and prepare all transportation devices for plant use.
- Complete Time-Based Oil Change PMs - Sample oil reservoirs and prepare for shipping to the offsite lab
