The Industrial Electrician is responsible for the safe and efficient maintenance and repair of facility electrical equipment. This position performs installation, monitoring, maintenance, repair, and/or design modification of high-tech distributed manufacturing and industrial process control systems.

Duties & Responsibilities 1

• Repair, replace and install sensors, actuators, transformers, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, electric eyes, conduit systems, switches, defective writing, etc.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and replace PLCs, Servo and Frequency Drives, and related electronic hardware
• Disassembles, inspects, reassembles, troubleshoots, repairs, and replaces malfunctioning parts or equipment (motors, switches, sensors, input /output boards, controllers servos, gears, sprockets chains, knives, etc. using test equipment
• Use blueprints and wiring diagrams to plan and execute electrical repairs and installations
• Make proper use of tools such as hacksaws, pipe benders, pipe threaders, hammers, and screwdrivers, splice wires and install conduit, panel boards, switch boxes, motors and drives, and other electrical equipment
• May test or recommend new equipment in the electronic field, staying well-informed of the latest state-of-the-art technology
• Cleans lubricates and adjusts guides, flap tuckers, sealing jaws, sensors, servos, and timing for process systems of packaging equipment to improve efficiency, quality, or operation
• Performs routine preventive maintenance procedures as per schedule
• Installs change parts (pockets, flap tuckers, film folding shoulders, etc.) on our production machinery
• Provide technical expertise to train and support production and create an environment of continuous learning
• Maintain housekeeping and sanitation of work area and equipment
• • Use of Nestlé computer systems for accurate tracking of products as required

Requirements & Skills 1

• Requires a high school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 5 years of related experience; or a combination of education and experience. Proficiency in electrical skills: PLC programming, electrical circuits, schematics, servo motors, and familiarity with 460/220 3 PH wiring.

The Industrial Electrician is responsible for the installation, commissioning, and customer training of various types of equipment. Provides service and customer support in person at customer facilities and via phone.

Duties & Responsibilities 3

• Design, test, and make schematics of panels and electrical components for smokehouses and other projects.

Duties & Responsibilities 4

• Complies with established job safety practices, policies, and procedures as specified in plant and corporate directives for the safe performance of the work assignment, by the guidelines of the food safety system. This includes initiating and reviewing standard operating procedures (SOPs) for areas of responsibility as directed.
• Installs, troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains high-speed, industrial process equipment for can and/or end making, power, lighting, control, and PLC logic controls for all production process and control equipment. This includes all electrical power (24 to 600 volts), automation controllers, VFDs, transducers, proximity sensors, and inspection devices.
• Identifies and designs process improvements for inefficiencies and potential electrical problems and coordinates through the supervisor to implement them.
• Diagnoses causes of malfunctions and corrects through field measurements and programmable logic control software. Ensures efficient equipment operation through proper line control programming and proactively suggests methods to improve line performance.
• Maintains effective communication and documentation through review of and entries to daily log books, updates to wiring schematics (paper and ACAD), and computer program change forms, (whether maintained on paper or Microsoft Office formats), as well as shift turn over meetings.
