Position Title: Maintenance Technician
Location: Niles, IL
Schedule: 1st Shift (Flexible start time: 8:00 AM or 9:00 AM)
Compensation: $33–$38/hour (Direct Hire)
Overview
We are seeking a skilled and self-directed Maintenance Technician to support a fast-paced manufacturing environment across two production facilities. This is a hands-on role focused on keeping equipment running efficiently through a strong balance of preventive maintenance and real-time troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance (PM) on production equipment
- Troubleshoot and repair primarily mechanical issues, along with minor electrical problems
- Support production by minimizing downtime and addressing equipment issues quickly
- Maintain and repair printing presses, converting equipment, conveyors, and packaging machinery
- Complete fabrication work including welding and machining repairs
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs and CMMS records
- Assist with installation and setup of new equipment
What You’ll Be Working On
- Offset printing presses
- Die cutters, foil stampers, and folder/gluers
- Paper cutters and conveyors
- Forklifts and pallet trucks
- General production and packaging equipment
This role is approximately 80% mechanical and 20% electrical, with a strong emphasis on hands-on repair work.
Qualifications
Required:
- Minimum of 5 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills
- Experience with machining (lathe, mill) and welding (MIG/TIG)
- Ability to diagnose and repair equipment independently
- Experience working in fast-paced production settings (packaging, printing, food, or similar industries)
Preferred:
- Technical certifications
- Experience in printing, paper, or packaging environments
