Shipping and Receiving Material Handler

Schedule: Openings available across multiple shifts

Pay: $18–$23/hour, depending on experience

• Material Handler: $18–$19/hour
• Shipping & Receiving Clerk: $20–$23/hour

Overtime: Candidates should be comfortable working 50+ hours per week and occasional weekends.

Position Summary

Aegis Worldwide is currently partnered with a well-established manufacturing company seeking Shipping & Receiving Clerks and Material Handlers to support its warehouse, logistics, and production operations.

The primary need is for Shipping & Receiving Clerks who can combine hands-on forklift/material handling experience with inventory, computer, and shipping responsibilities.

We are also considering experienced Material Handlers / Forklift Operators, particularly candidates who are interested in developing into a higher-level Shipping & Receiving position.

Shipping & Receiving Clerk Responsibilities

This is a hands-on role that combines forklift operation with shipping, receiving, inventory, and computer-based responsibilities.

• Operate a sit-down forklift to move raw materials, components, and finished products
• Load and unload inbound and outbound trucks
• Receive, stage, organize, and distribute materials throughout the facility
• Verify incoming and outgoing orders for accuracy
• Complete and review shipping documentation and bills of lading
• Perform cycle counts and assist with inventory accuracy
• Track material and inventory information electronically
• Enter and maintain data within ERP or warehouse management systems
• Confirm products are stored and staged in the correct locations
• Coordinate with production, warehouse, logistics, and other departments
• Maintain accurate shipping, receiving, and inventory records

Approximately 60% of the position involves forklift/material handling work, with the remaining time focused on inventory, shipping documentation, computer systems, and other logistics responsibilities.

Shipping & Receiving Clerk Qualifications

• Previous shipping, receiving, warehouse, distribution, or manufacturing experience
• Forklift experience required; must be comfortable regularly operating a sit-down forklift
• Experience with inventory control, order verification, cycle counting, or shipping documentation
• Strong computer skills and comfort learning new software
• Experience working with an ERP system is strongly preferred
• Experience creating or reviewing bills of lading is a plus
• Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately manage inventory and shipping information
• Good communication skills and ability to work with multiple departments

Material Handler Opportunities

Candidates whose experience is more heavily focused on forklift operation and material movement are also encouraged to apply.

Material Handler responsibilities include:

• Operating a sit-down forklift
• Moving raw materials, parts, and finished goods throughout the facility
• Loading and unloading trucks
• Staging materials for production
• Organizing warehouse and inventory locations
• Scanning and labeling materials
• Supporting production by keeping materials flowing to the appropriate departments

Material Handler candidates should have at least one year of warehouse, manufacturing, distribution, forklift, or related material-handling experience.

Strong Material Handlers who demonstrate computer, inventory, and shipping/receiving capabilities may have the opportunity to grow into a Shipping & Receiving Clerk position.

Work Environment

This is a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Candidates should be comfortable:

• Working around manufacturing equipment
• Working in an environment that can be hot, noisy, and dirty
• Standing and walking for extended periods
• Bending, reaching, and lifting materials as needed
• Working overtime and occasional weekends
