Location: Lake Orion, MI

Pay Rate: $25- $30/hour

Employment Type: Long-term, open-ended contract with potential for direct hire

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Fluid Power Technician to support the assembly, installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of pneumatic and hydraulic systems. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, experience reading fluid power schematics, and the ability to work independently while maintaining a strong focus on safety and quality.

Responsibilities

• Assemble equipment according to approved designs, engineering specifications, and customer requirements.
• Install pneumatic and hydraulic piping, tubing, and hoses.
• Troubleshoot pneumatic and hydraulic circuits safely and effectively.
• Read and interpret mechanical and fluid power blueprints and schematics.
• Identify various fittings and demonstrate knowledge of fluid power symbols.
• Document and communicate design changes, issues, and problems throughout the build process.
• Complete assigned tasks with minimal direct supervision.
• Communicate with the project team regarding open issues, project progress, and build status.
• Assist with the execution and maintenance of ISO and quality standards.

• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 5 years of fluid power experience required.
• Related vocational education preferred.
• Journeyman's card preferred.
• Basic computer skills.
• Intermediate knowledge of:
• Schematic interpretation
• Pipe threading
• Fitting identification
• Fluid power symbols
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude with a strong focus on safety and quality.
• Ability to follow direction and complete assignments independently or as part of a team.
• Ability to maintain a steady work pace while:
• Bending
• Kneeling
• Climbing ladders
• Climbing onto and beneath machinery
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. as required.
• Must provide personal hand tools and an appropriate toolbox. A recommended tool list will be provided.

Required Certifications & Training

Employees must be able to obtain the following certifications/licenses while employed:

• Hi-Lo/Forklift
• Aerial Platform
• Overhead Crane
• Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)

Travel

• Ability to travel at least 20% of the time may be required.
• Travel may include domestic and international assignments, depending on project requirements.
