Step into a day at the plant
From your first system check in the control room to your last field round, you’ll keep a Stamford, CT power facility running safely, efficiently, and reliably. Reporting to the Plant Manager, you’ll watch over critical plant systems, react to alarms, and move seamlessly between DCS controls and hands-on equipment work. It’s a role for someone who thrives on variety, precision, and accountability.
What you’ll do

- Make routine rounds to spot abnormal conditions early and address potential issues before they become problems.
- Respond immediately to alarms; take protective and corrective actions to safeguard equipment and maintain generation.
- Start up, adjust, and secure plant equipment from the Distributed Control System or directly at the equipment.
- Tune operating parameters to achieve safe, compliant, and optimized performance.
- Operate plant systems manually when needed.
- Execute multi‑discipline maintenance within your capabilities: mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and instrumentation.
- Complete work orders covering repairs, replacements, and scheduled maintenance tasks.
- Troubleshoot motors, motor controllers, VFDs, UPS systems, switches, sensors, and control devices.
- Operate heavy equipment such as boom trucks, forklifts, flatbed pickups, and utility vehicles.
- Support preventive maintenance, spare‑parts tracking, and inventory control.
- Assist with planning, scheduling, and executing outages—both forced and planned.
- Maintain accurate logs, reports, and documentation per plant requirements.
