5th Shift Assistant Production Supervisor

Position Summary

The Assistant Production Supervisor supports daily manufacturing operations by coordinating production activities, directing operators, maintaining quality and safety standards, and assisting with scheduling and workflow. This role serves as a backup to the Production Supervisor and helps ensure efficient, safe, and consistent department operations.

5th Shift schedule is Fri-Sun 6:45 PM - 6:45 AM

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily production activities and fill in for the Supervisor during absences.
• Coordinate operators, material handlers, and setup personnel to maintain efficient workflow.
• Assign work based on production priorities, staffing, and operator availability.
• Train and support employees while ensuring procedures are followed safely and accurately.
• Perform first-piece/first-article inspections and ongoing quality checks.
• Assist setup personnel with improving setup accuracy and changeover times.
• Ensure accurate production and quality documentation.
• Issue work orders for setups and changeovers and assist with operator scheduling.
• Monitor production schedules and ensure employees have the necessary materials, tools, and equipment.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and follow all company safety and quality requirements.
• Communicate machine, job, and production status with other shifts and management.
• Assist with equipment and material organization and inventory management.

Requirements

• Strong leadership, organization, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a professional demeanor.
• Manufacturing/production experience with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, and perform physical work throughout the shift.
• Comfortable working in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment.
• Availability for overtime as needed.
