Industrial Effluent Treatment Operator

A Day in the Role
On a typical shift in our Hartford manufacturing facility, you’ll bring the wastewater system online, verify chemical inventories, and review overnight logs before conducting your first round of samples. As production ramps up, you’ll adjust treatment processes, document readings, and collaborate with maintenance to keep pumps and equipment performing at their best. Throughout the day, you’ll stay ahead of safety and environmental procedures while keeping the treatment area clean and organized.
What You’ll Do
- Run and oversee industrial wastewater treatment systems and associated equipment.
- Collect samples, perform routine tests, and track treatment performance.
- Record accurate operating data, logs, and reports.
- Monitor chemical dosing and treatment variables; fine-tune as conditions change.
- Spot equipment issues and process deviations and escalate appropriately.
- Conduct routine inspections and basic preventive maintenance.
- Follow all safety, environmental, and company protocols.
- Keep the work area orderly and compliant.
- Partner with production and maintenance to ensure stable system operation.
What You’ll Bring
- Experience in wastewater treatment—industrial experience preferred.
- Wastewater certification is a plus and may qualify you for a higher pay rate.
- Comfort with sampling, testing, monitoring, and recordkeeping.
- Mechanical aptitude with basic troubleshooting ability.
- Self-directed mindset and adherence to established procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and safety focus.
- Ability to work your assigned schedule, including weekends when required.

Compensation
