Strategic Sourcing Planner — Direct Materials

Your Mandate

Safeguard material availability and cost discipline for a fast-moving manufacturing operation. You will convert demand into supply, stabilize new product ramps, and elevate supplier performance—all while maintaining audit readiness and data accuracy.

Core Responsibilities

  • Execute end-to-end purchasing for direct materials and services: review requisitions, evaluate vendor bids, and place POs.
  • Leverage the MRP system to drive timely buys and adjust to changing demand signals.
  • Manage procurement across NPIs and existing products; plan and execute last-time buys for EOL items.
  • Hit service and cost targets: on-time delivery, inventory health, and purchase price variance.
  • Analyze forecast accuracy and publish insights to guide planning and execution.
  • Maintain standard cost data for assigned parts and support quoting/sourcing to enhance supply continuity and reduce cost.
  • Resolve supply issues (shortages, allocations, discrepancies) using root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Oversee supplier performance through reviews and targeted improvement plans.
  • Own KPI visibility and action plans: OTD, PO acknowledgments, past due shipments, and more.
  • Support ISO/internal audit readiness and close out findings.
  • Advance continuous improvement—especially data integrity and parameter management.
