B&A Precision has spent over 50 years building mission-critical parts for Aerospace, Defense, and Medical programs. Step onto our shop floor and you’ll translate complex prints into reliable, repeatable machining processes that hit spec the first time—and every time.
A day in this role
You start by reviewing new and repeat customer orders, shaping the process plan that drives every operation. In Mastercam or BobCAD, you create and post programs, then push them through our DNC system. You’ll choose the right tools and holders, arrange lathe jaws and mill fixtures, and produce clear inspection sheets so production runs smoothly. Throughout the day, you partner with Quality to align to GD&T, shepherd NPI first articles, troubleshoot any on-floor hiccups, and collaborate with scheduling to keep work moving. When RFQs arrive, you contribute accurate estimates grounded in proven methods. You report directly to the shop President and see the impact of your decisions in real time.
What you’ll do
- Own process planning for both new and repeat parts.
- Program CNC lathes (2- and 3-axis, with bar feeders) and mills (3-, 4-, and 5-axis).
- Build/edit shop-floor inspection sheets to verify critical characteristics.

- Oversee New Product Introduction (NPI) first article lots and close out actions.
- Support shop scheduling to optimize throughput and on-time delivery.
- Troubleshoot processes on the floor and resolve issues quickly.
- Apply working knowledge of NDT, heat treatment, and coatings relevant to aerospace/defense/medical parts.
- Leverage CAD/CAM and DNC systems to streamline programming and revisions.
- Assist in generating accurate estimates for new business.
- Champion basic Lean Manufacturing practices to remove waste and stabilize processes.
