People Operations Generalist – Manufacturing Site
Step into a hands-on People Ops role where you’ll power a high-performance culture across an office-and-shop-floor environment. Reporting to the HR Department Head, you’ll be the engine behind programs that strengthen quality, productivity, compliance, data security, and workforce development.
A day in the life
You start by checking training and certification dashboards, ensuring both mandatory and elective learning is up to date. Mid-morning, you guide a new-hire orientation, then consult with a supervisor on a performance conversation. After lunch, you document an investigation, coordinate a recognition event, and review benefit questions from employees. You finish the day scanning for regulatory updates and recommending policy tweaks to keep us compliant and current.
What you’ll own
- Administer and execute HR programs spanning compensation, benefits, leave, disciplinary actions, disputes and investigations, performance and talent management, immigration, productivity initiatives, event planning, recognition and morale, occupational health and safety, and training/development.
- Track and document compliance for mandatory/non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments.
- Deliver engaging new hire orientation.
- Serve as a first point of contact for applicant, employee, and supervisor inquiries; escalate complex/sensitive matters appropriately.
- Participate in disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws; recommend and review policy best practices.
- Stay current on HR, talent, employment law, regulatory changes, and HR technologies.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Minimum qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or advanced HR management certificates preferred; equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience considered.
- At least 1 year of human resource management experience.
- Current, broad knowledge of employment laws and practices; training in employment law, compensation, org planning, and safety preferred.

- Thorough understanding of employment-related laws and regulations.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication across all organizational levels.
- High accuracy, strong attention to detail, and excellent organization.
- Ability to influence and coach managers on policy and best practices.
- Discretion handling confidential information.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint; advanced Excel is a plus.
- Comfort learning HRIS and talent management systems quickly.
- Effective time management and prioritization to meet deadlines.
- Operate within procedures while setting priorities and making occasional exceptions.
- Strong analytical capability to gather and interpret data.

Work Environment – Office
Includes both a typical office environment, with minimal exposure to excessive noise or adverse environmental issues, and a shop environment, with exposure to high noise levels from operating machines, physical hazards from moving equipment and machine parts, nuisance dust, and exposure to hazardous materials used in the manufacturing process.
PPE
Steel-toe shoes/boots are required in defined areas in manufacturing locations.

This position requires the ability to talk and listen. The employee is often required to sit and use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel and to manipulate keys on a keyboard.
