Role snapshot

  • Report to the North America Regional HSE Manager; partner daily with the Facility Leader in a matrixed environment.
  • Lead site HSE programs while collaborating with Corporate QHSE, facility leaders, cross‑functional partners, and external regulatory agencies.

What success looks like

  • Ownership of strategy: Policies, programs, training, and procedures aligned with corporate and regulatory standards (OSHA, EPA, DOT).
  • Environmental stewardship: Accurate permits, timely reporting, and effective regulatory interactions.
  • People leadership: Daily guidance for one full‑time HSE professional (non‑desk) and a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement.
  • Prevention focus: Energize behavior‑based safety and engagement initiatives, including Consequence Thinking – Zero & Beyond.
  • On‑the‑floor enablement: Practical support for procedure rollout, regulatory interpretation, and corporate mandates.
  • Event management: Thorough incident reporting and investigations with root cause analysis, corrective actions, and best‑practice sharing.
  • Assurance & oversight: Lead or support internal/external audits, regulatory inspections, and operational reviews.
  • Operational excellence: Partner with the Quality Manager to maintain ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018; support Kaizen/Gemba and CI activities; represent the region in cross‑site forums.
  • Strategic contribution: Drive corporate initiatives and HSE projects prioritized by the Director of HSE or Facility Leader.

Bring these qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in Safety, Environmental, Engineering, or related discipline (equivalent HSE experience considered in lieu of degree).
  • 3+ years of practical HSE experience, preferably in manufacturing.
  • Depth in OSHA compliance, behavior‑based safety, incident management, auditing, and training.
  • Environmental compliance experience (permits, waste management, reporting).
  • Working knowledge of ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 is a plus.
  • Familiarity with workers’ compensation programs.
  • Periodic travel for audits, cross‑site initiatives, or training.
