You’ll MIG weld sheet metal and structural steel to exacting standards, then assemble large enclosure sections, aligning and verifying every detail for structural integrity. Throughout the day, you’ll run saws, drills, grinders, and other power tools, and safely handle material with overhead cranes or forklifts to keep work moving smoothly.
What you’ll do
- Fabrication & welding: MIG-weld sheet metal and structural steel; fit and assemble per drawings; maintain tight tolerances and clean, consistent weld quality.
- Blueprints & measurement: Read complex mechanical blueprints; verify dimensions with precision tools; confirm alignment, fit-up, and structural integrity.
- Tools & equipment: Operate saws, drills, grinders, and power tools; safely use overhead cranes and material-handling equipment; maintain an orderly, safe work area.
