Job Title: Electrical Test Technician

Location: Chattanooga, TN

Schedule: 1st Shift, Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–5:00 PM

About the Role

We’re looking for a hands-on Electrical Test Technician to join a forward-thinking energy solutions team in Chattanooga, TN. In this role, you’ll support the initial power-up and testing of modular electrical units, verifying functionality and ensuring everything is operating as intended before programming is installed. This is a great opportunity for someone with strong electrical and troubleshooting experience who is also looking to grow into a leadership role over time.

You’ll work inside a temperature-controlled test environment, powering up brand-new, state-of-the-art equipment and methodically checking for issues or defects. While you’ll have support from the local team, the role requires a strong sense of independence, problem-solving ability, and a proactive approach to troubleshooting.

Schedule & Compensation

  • Typical workweek: 45 hours, Monday–Friday (7 AM–5 PM), with potential OT on evenings/weekends if needed

  • Flexible shift times may be arranged depending on client requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Power up equipment for the first time and confirm voltage levels prior to program installation

  • Follow pre-established test protocols and checklists step by step

  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, PLC diagrams, and HMI layouts

  • Use meters to check resistance, continuity, and voltage

  • Troubleshoot issues in real-time and collaborate directly with clients to resolve them

  • Work on one unit at a time, with about 2 weeks allocated per test cycle

Qualifications:

  • Strong background in electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and testing

  • Ability to interpret electrical documentation (schematics, PLCs, HMIs)

  • Familiarity with automation systems and some logic editing experience preferred

  • Prior experience working with meters, voltage checks, and resistance tests

  • Comfortable working independently and communicating with clients when issues arise
