Field QA/QC Technician – Installation & Commissioning
Location: Dallas, TX
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–4:00 PM
Hours: 50-hour work week

A day in this role
By 6:00 AM you’re on site, reviewing the day’s installation plan and prioritizing audits. You walk the floor with supervisors, verify critical steps using Lean tools, and check in with mechanical, electrical, and adjustment teams to align on quality checkpoints. Throughout the day, you serve as the primary QA/QC contact on the job site—fielding questions, resolving nonconformances, and documenting results. You record Site Quality Audit findings in the EHS Insight Database, drive corrective actions with root cause analysis, and coach crews to the right standards. Before you leave, you update metrics, close out checksheets, and brief stakeholders on improvements and risks.
What you’ll do
- Act as the on-site point person for QA/QC during installation and steady-state operations.
- Execute in-field quality assessments and process verification using Lean methodologies.
- Plan and run Site Quality Audits; capture and manage audit data within the EHS Insight Database.
- Create, distribute, collect, and review QA/QC checksheets with mechanical, electrical, and adjustment teams.
- Lead and support corrective actions; report metrics grounded in root cause analysis.
- Champion initiatives that reduce cost, raise quality, and streamline installation.
- Train and coach installation crews to maintain consistently high workmanship standards.
- Partner with site managers and installation leadership to define contractor expectations and quality procedures.
- Address quality concerns directly and professionally to uphold company standards and procedures.
- Identify process gaps and collaborate on preventative solutions to stop repeat issues.
- Work cross-functionally with quality, installation, service, engineering, and customer teams.
What you’ll bring
- Associate degree or technical diploma preferred (or equivalent experience).
- 2+ years supporting or monitoring QA/QC programs in manufacturing or construction.
- Hands-on experience with Lean/continuous improvement and root cause analysis.
- Background partnering with construction contractors is a plus.
- Confident communicator who can hold teams accountable to established standards and procedures.
- Bilingual English/Japanese is a plus.
- Ability to safely use hand tools and torque wrenches; strong documentation and organizational skills.
- Valid driver’s license with a strong driving record; willingness to travel up to 25%, potentially internationally.
Physical & travel requirements
- Regular standing, walking, bending, and frequent use of hands throughout the shift.
- Lift and move up to 50 lbs.
- Comfort working on outdoor construction sites and in indoor clean room environments.
Work environment
Exposure may include moving mechanical parts, electrical systems, chemicals, higher noise levels, and active construction or manufacturing areas.
