CNC Programming Engineer, NPI and Continuous Improvement

What you will do
Program 3-, 4-, and 5-axis CNC equipment from drawings, models, and specifications.
Engineer fixtures for fast, consistent setups and quick-change operations.
Choose optimal tooling, dialing in speeds, feeds, cutter types, and strategies for different metals.
Prove out first-article parts and validate conformity to print.
Drive continuous improvements in cycle time, quality, and throughput.
Generate setup sheets and documentation to ensure repeatable results.
Partner with engineering and manufacturing engineering to troubleshoot and resolve process/quality issues.
Train machinists on new parts and processes for a smooth production handoff.
Collaborate with tooling suppliers and technical consultants to test new technologies.
Share knowledge to support workforce development and team capability growth.
Complete all required reporting: time, attendance, and inventory.
Maintain 6S standards and adhere to all safety policies; perform other duties as assigned.
What you bring
5+ years CNC programming experience, or 3+ years with a technical diploma.
Proficiency with CAM software such as Mastercam, GibbsCAM, or Autodesk Fusion 360.
Experience spanning 3-, 4-, and/or 5-axis programming.
Expertise in tooling selection, tool wear, and metal-cutting strategies.
Ability to lead NPI from first article through capability runs to production release.
Root-cause and corrective action skills for dimensional, surface finish, and machining issues.
Advanced print reading with expert GD&T; familiarity with inspection methods and applicable military specs.
Strong grasp of manufacturing processes and workflow.
Preferred: Lean/quality systems exposure (ISO 9001:2015, ISO 13485, AS9100D).
