Industrial Power & Controls Estimator

What if this were your next project?

You receive a complex industrial retrofit package: multiple MCC additions, new instrumentation, and controls integration. Could you translate the electrical drawings, P&IDs, and isometrics into a clean estimate that reflects real labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor scope? Could you walk the site, challenge assumptions with construction managers and electricians, align with inspectors on permitting, and source every wire, conduit, fitting, and control component with confidence? If so, you might be the estimator we are looking for.

Your mission

  • Build accurate, field-informed estimates for industrial electrical construction and installation
  • Perform disciplined takeoffs and interpret electrical drawings and schematics, P&IDs, and multi-view/isometric drawings
  • Validate site conditions and scope through on-site walkthroughs
  • Collaborate with engineers, construction managers, and tradespeople to confirm constructability and execution plans
  • Partner with manufacturers and vendors to verify specifications and pricing
  • Engage regulatory authorities to ensure permitting and compliance
  • Plan procurement and delivery; manage vendor quotes and subcontractor scopes
  • Integrate realistic installation methods and field constraints into assumptions
  • Embed safety in the estimate, including LOTO, arc flash, and site-specific requirements
  • Apply NEC / NFPA 70 and OSHA (29 CFR 1926)
  • Track schedules, labor plans, and costs; keep assumptions and revisions organized
  • Continuously seek opportunities to improve cost efficiency and standardization
