We are a top-tier aerospace precision manufacturer seeking a Lead Dimensional Inspection Programmer to elevate our metrology capability. In this hands-on leadership role, you will design high-complexity CMM programs, enable flawless new product introductions, and strengthen our AS9100-compliant inspection systems.

Your Core Responsibilities

  • Author, refine, and optimize CMM programs for intricate aerospace components
  • Conduct First Article (AS9102), in-process, and final inspections using CMMs and conventional tools
  • Build and sustain libraries in PC-DMIS, Calypso, or equivalent
  • Translate complex engineering drawings and GD&T per ASME Y14.5 into actionable inspection plans
  • Own inspection method development and validation for new product introductions
  • Diagnose dimensional nonconformances; collaborate with engineering and manufacturing on root cause
  • Implement data-driven inspection strategies to increase efficiency while safeguarding quality
  • Validate fixtures, tooling, and processes via thorough dimensional analysis
  • Support customer and internal audits; ensure alignment with AS9100 requirements
  • Coach and mentor junior inspectors and programmers; act as a technical SME
  • Maintain calibration records; keep inspection assets compliant
  • Advance continuous improvement for accuracy, repeatability, and throughput

What You Bring

  • 5+ years of CMM programming in precision machining
  • Experience with Zeiss, Hexagon, Mitutoyo, or similar CMM platforms
  • Advanced PC-DMIS, Calypso, or comparable software expertise
  • Expert-level GD&T (ASME Y14.5) and complex blueprint interpretation
  • Track record inspecting tight-tolerance machined components
  • Mastery of micrometers, calipers, height gages, bore gages, optical comparators, surface plates
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical mindset
  • Excellent cross-functional communication with engineering and production

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in aerospace or defense manufacturing
  • Familiarity with AS9100 quality systems
  • First Article Inspection to AS9102 standards
  • SPC, MSA, and statistical analysis capability
  • Deep experience with Zeiss CMMs and Calypso
  • Continuous improvement and Lean Manufacturing exposure
