DevRel Engineer

About the Role

A fast-growing, YC-backed open-source LLM observability platform — now part of a leading OLAP database company — is hiring a DevRel Engineer to champion their developer community and shape thought leadership in the LLM engineering space. This is a hybrid role based in Berlin, Germany, with flexibility to work remotely within European timezones and a requirement to be on-site approximately one week per month.

The platform is the largest open-source solution in its category, trusted by enterprises and startups alike, with tens of thousands of GitHub stars, thousands of Discord members, and millions of monthly SDK downloads. Think of it as the "Datadog" for LLM applications — covering tracing, evaluation, prompt management, and more.

What You'll Do

  • Own and continuously improve developer documentation, making it the best resource in the LLM engineering space
  • Create high-quality technical content: blog posts, social posts, tutorials, and cookbooks with real, working code examples
  • Produce videos, demos, and creative content (including memes) that resonate with a technical audience
  • Build small applications or tools that drive awareness and adoption in unconventional ways
  • Deeply engage with the open-source community: answer questions, onboard users, gather product feedback
  • Represent the platform at developer conferences, webinars, virtual events, and user cohorts
  • Collaborate closely with the engineering team to stay ahead of new features and integrations

  • Strong public speaking and presentation skills for both in-person and virtual audiences
  • Active involvement in open-source communities and a genuine OSS mindset
  • Willingness to be on-site in Berlin approximately one week per month and travel to events as needed
  • Ability to become a deep expert user of the platform and evangelize it authentically

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with LLM frameworks, agent tooling, or AI/ML workflows
  • Experience at companies like LangChain, Arize AI, Weights & Biases, Braintrust, or similar LLMOps/MLOps tools
  • Impressive side projects or open-source contributions you're proud of
  • Excitement about working in a small, accountable, and fast-moving team

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: €90,000 – €160,000 annually, depending on experience
  • Equity participation
  • Work with a senior, engineering-heavy team with backgrounds from Google, Microsoft, Snowflake, and top consulting firms
