I&C Electronics Technologist — Precision EDM Systems

Role snapshot

  • Contract: 12+ months
  • Training: July 2026 at Westinghouse Waltz Mill (Madison, PA)
  • Work: Travel to nuclear sites after training
  • Focus: I&C field work + ZAP EDM sinker programming/operations

What you’ll do

  • Execute installation, calibration, maintenance, and repair of instrumentation, sensors, PLCs, and automated process control systems.
  • Program, set up, and operate ZAP EDM sinker machinery for high-precision manufacturing.
  • Collaborate with engineering/production teams to keep manufacturing activities on plan and compliant.
  • Conduct instrumentation testing with DMMs, oscilloscopes, and supplier simulators; analyze results and document findings.
  • Read and apply schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and engineering procedures; run formal test protocols.
  • Operate electrical/electronic test equipment to validate performance and troubleshoot faults.
  • Adhere to and champion quality, health, and safety procedures for every assignment.
  • Support generalized I&C field tasks and broaden scope through cross-training.
  • Perform required field cable installation in industrial settings.

Must-have qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with precision tooling/equipment.

Preferred

  • Military electronics background (e.g., Electronics Technician, Avionics) or comparable experience.
  • 2+ years in a related electronics/I&C role.
  • Experience with ZAP EDM or other sinker/wire EDM platforms.

Proficiencies

  • Commercial and industrial electrical work: installation, troubleshooting, repair, diagnostics.
  • Heavy-equipment electrical systems; equipment diagnostics and service.
  • Electrical panel installation; equipment wiring and commissioning.
  • Access control systems; preventive and corrective maintenance.
  • Fluent in electrical schematic interpretation and technical documentation.

  • Base pay estimated at $50.00/hour to $55.00/hour (dependent on experience, skills, and qualifications).
