Job Summary
We are seeking experienced Travel CNC Machinists to support manufacturing facilities nationwide on short- and long-term assignments. This role involves setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC machines to produce precision parts while meeting quality, safety, and production standards. Ideal candidates are flexible, reliable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, contract-based environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC lathes and/or mills according to blueprints and job specs
- Perform tool changes, offsets, and basic program edits at the machine
- Load raw materials and unload finished parts
- Inspect parts using precision measuring tools to ensure quality and tolerance compliance
- Troubleshoot machining and tooling issues
- Maintain clean and safe work areas
- Follow all safety procedures and customer site policies
- Adapt quickly to new equipment, processes, and shop environments
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 3+ years of CNC machining experience (Lathe, Mill, or both)
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and GD&T
- Strong knowledge of measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges)
- Experience with common CNC controls (Fanuc, Haas, Mazak, Siemens, etc.)
- Willingness to travel and work flexible schedules, including overtime
Preferred Qualifications
- Full setup experience
- Multi-axis machining experience
- Background in aerospace, defense, oil & gas, or medical manufacturing
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
