Your afternoon begins by reviewing the production schedule and the batch card for the next compound. You stage raw materials, double-check TA item code numbers, verify lot numbers and weights, and confirm customer packaging instructions. Before any charge, you clean and inspect the blender so it’s ready for the next compound.
With everything in place, you perform the compound charge and add all hand-add ingredients precisely as the batch card specifies. You coordinate with adjacent operations to keep material flowing, and when it’s time to package, you generate labels, align and apply them correctly, and be sure each container is packed, weighed, sealed, and labeled per the customer’s requirements. If anything looks off, you document the variation on the batch card and notify supervision—and you escalate scheduling, instruction, or potential issues to the Bagger Leadman.
During changeovers, you move efficiently and safely, using the required PPE, then communicate with mill area operators after the changeover is complete. You also stage future packaging needs (Gaylords, Supersacks, and more) so the next orders can start smoothly. Throughout the shift, you scan and enter finished goods into the computer system, maintain excellent housekeeping, and drive toward plant KPIs while contributing to Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
