Role highlights

  • Enroll in our Screw Machine Academy to develop into a production-ready technician.
  • Support Tornos multi‑spindle/Swiss screw machines on our Kentwood, MI team.
  • Practice safe, accurate adjustments and uphold rigorous quality standards.

Academy curriculum

  • Core Tornos machine components and end‑to‑end operation.
  • Operator controls and essential preventive maintenance.
  • Bar stock prep and restocking to sustain throughput.
  • Identifying causes of quality defects and corrective actions.
  • Tool changes and slide adjustments for precision.
  • Shaving, roller supports, and floating holder techniques.
  • Collet and pusher care; replacing cutoff tools effectively.
  • Adjusting pickoff and cutoff settings for performance.

Schedule

  • Initial training: Day shift for 4–6 weeks.
  • Ongoing schedule: Night shift, 8:00 p.m.–6:00 a.m. (approximately 50 hours/week).

Minimum qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical/machining education is a plus.
  • Successful completion of an onsite mechanical aptitude test.
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude, strong attention to detail, and desire for hands‑on work.
