Senior Data Engineer (.NET / Azure)

Position Overview

We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer with a strong foundation in .NET technologies and Azure data services to design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and platforms. The successful candidate will work closely with data architects, analysts, and business stakeholders to ensure reliable, high-quality data flows across the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement robust ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and .NET-based custom solutions

• Build and maintain data models, warehouses, and lake architectures using Azure Synapse Analytics or SQL Server

• Develop data ingestion, transformation, and delivery processes meeting SLA and data quality standards

• Collaborate with data analysts and ML engineers to provide curated, analytics-ready datasets

• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize pipeline performance and data quality checks

• Write scalable C# / .NET code for complex data processing tasks and integrations

• Implement data governance, lineage tracking, and security best practices

• Document data flows, schemas, and pipeline architecture for cross-team use

Required Qualifications

• 5–6 years of experience in data engineering or a closely related field

• Proficiency in C# / .NET for building data processing applications

• Hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks (PySpark or Spark .NET), and Azure Synapse

• Strong SQL and T-SQL skills; experience with SQL Server and/or Azure SQL

• Experience with Delta Lake, Parquet, and columnar storage formats

• Knowledge of data warehousing concepts (star/snowflake schema, SCD types)

• Familiarity with Azure DevOps, Git, and CI/CD for data pipelines

• Understanding of data governance, cataloging, and security practices (RBAC, encryption)

Nice to Have

• Experience with Azure Purview or Apache Atlas for data cataloging

• Knowledge of streaming data with Azure Event Hubs or Kafka

• DP-203 or related Azure data certification

• Exposure to dbt or similar transformation tools
