Shape the future of rail with Siemens Mobility

For over 160 years, Siemens has powered American progress with infrastructure, electrification, and transportation solutions. Today, Siemens Mobility’s Rolling Stock Division in Lexington, NC, leads the North American market in passenger coaches, locomotives, and light rail vehicles—where automation and digitalization are redefining how cities move.

A day in the life

As evening kicks off your shift at 4:00pm, you’ll head to the Carshell welding and BG manufacturing areas, where your eye for detail safeguards the build quality of passenger railcars. You’ll interpret specifications and drawings, confirm the correct configuration revision, and execute visual CWI, dimensional, and mechanical checks on welded and machined components. You’ll apply one or more non-destructive testing methods to validate weld integrity, and when needed, you’ll complete first article inspections and compile concise reports and diagnostics. Throughout, you’ll keep data flowing accurately by entering, maintaining, and retrieving information in our Material Resource Planning system, noncompliance tracking tools, and Configuration Management System.
