Build better materials with us
Imagine turning a formulation concept into production‑ready pellets by lunchtime. At Teknor Apex—a privately held innovator founded in 1924 and now operating across the U.S., Belgium, Singapore, Germany, and China—you’ll help customers create better products by shaping polymers on our R&D pilot line.
The challenge
Master the 40 mm pilot twin‑screw extruder. Translate lab ideas into consistent results. Switch gears from compounding to testing without missing a beat. If that excites you, read on.
What you’ll do
- Own sample preparation and R&D runs for TPVs and other materials on the 40 mm pilot compounding line.
- Prepare additive packages; set up the KTRON control panel; align loader/feeder systems; and manage downstream equipment (pelletizer, Gala unit, Witte, dryer).
- Execute testing strictly to specification and, after training, carry out all core lab functions independently.
- Document formulations, process parameters, and outcomes in the lab information system.
- Support adjacent work such as injection molding, extrusion trials, and physical testing of finished samples.
What sets you up for success
- Strong collaborator who communicates clearly with supervisors and teammates.
- Preferred experience: 1+ years in compounding, testing, or manufacturing.
- Education: Associate’s degree in a science field (in progress or completed).
- Hands‑on skill with twin‑screw compounding equipment.
Essential capabilities
- Lift up to 50 lbs safely.
- Fluent English communication by phone and in writing.
- Comfort with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
This is a representative summary of core duties and may evolve as project needs change.
Our culture
We value deep, long‑term relationships—with our customers and with each other. As our CEO says, “Manufacturing is a team sport,” and your work will directly support that team on a global stage.
