Aerospace CNC Production Machinist

Location: Elk Grove Village, Illinois
Pay: $20–$36 per hour (based on experience)
Schedule: 1st and 2nd shift options | Overtime available with typical 50+ hour weeks

A day in the shop

You clock in, review the day’s work orders, and grab the first blueprint. After confirming tools and materials, you set up or verify the CNC machine, dial in offsets, and make a careful first-piece run. With micrometers and calipers in hand, you inspect critical dimensions, make any fine adjustments, and move into steady production—maintaining output while holding to demanding aerospace tolerances. Throughout the shift you document checks, follow safety procedures, and contribute ideas for continuous improvement.

What you’ll handle

• Operate and/or set up CNC machining equipment to produce precision parts
• Interpret blueprints and technical drawings to plan each job
• Perform tool changes, offsets, and machine adjustments
• Verify quality using precision measuring instruments
• Maintain throughput while consistently meeting tight tolerance requirements
• Follow shop safety standards and support continuous improvement efforts

What you bring

• 1+ year of CNC machining or CNC operating experience in manufacturing
• Ability to read blueprints and use precision measuring tools
• Familiarity with tooling, offsets, and machine adjustments (preferred for machinists)
• Strong attention to detail and quality mindset
• Willingness to work 1st or 2nd shift
