The Impact You’ll Make
Envision a new utility-scale BESS project: you define scope, orchestrate engineering oversight, and unify stakeholders to deliver a safe, efficient, and reliable asset. Your blend of deep technical skill and pragmatic project leadership keeps the work on track and future-ready.
Your Responsibilities
- Engineer major BESS components and steward designs through the development cycle.
- Audit drawings for inconsistencies; institute corrective actions and elevate design rigor.
- Identify flaws in engineering analyses; implement durable fixes and share lessons learned.
- Prepare technical scopes of work that form the backbone of clear, executable contracts.
- Support projects end-to-end in concert with project managers.
- Provide technical direction and influence across diverse project teams.
- Maintain visibility into progress and technical issues; anticipate and mitigate risks.
- Work with suppliers to integrate primary equipment cleanly into the architecture.
- Partner across disciplines to enhance systems integration and controls.
- Interpret and enforce specifications for major equipment purchases; propose solutions where gaps exist.
- Navigate permitting requirements, address legal challenges, and recommend site design improvements.
- Take on additional responsibilities as needed.
- Travel approximately 25% for project-specific responsibilities.
What You Bring
- 15+ years in Solar/PV engineering and/or construction.
- Expert-level grounding in one or more: power electronics, battery storage system design, substation design, generation tie design.
- Familiarity with energy storage technologies: battery chemistries, PCS, DC/DC converters.
- Knowledge of lithium-ion storage safety and codes: UL1973, UL9540, UL9540A, NFPA 855, NFPA 70E, NEC, applicable IFC/IBC sections.
- Familiarity with IEC 61215, 61646, 61730.
- Ability to take on specialized, complex technical tasks.
