Field Installation and Commissioning Technician

A day in the field

You arrive at a client site, review the scope, and get right to work—mounting hardware, configuring systems, and validating that everything performs to spec. You follow established SOPs and safety rules without exception, capture clean documentation, and keep productivity high as you move from one location to the next. Throughout the day, you partner with the FSM and Program teams, surface risks early, and make sure the client understands how to use what you’ve installed.

What you’ll take on

  • Install and set up equipment and related systems on-site.
  • Diagnose issues on the spot and carry out repairs to restore functionality.
  • Run tests and commission systems to verify performance after install.
  • Adhere strictly to SOPs to deliver consistent, high-quality outcomes.
  • Complete accurate service records and closeout reports for every job.
  • Care for tools and equipment and keep a stocked parts inventory on hand.
  • Engage with customers at the job site and provide basic user training.
  • Call out risks, delays, or technical blockers promptly for escalation.
  • Contribute to hitting installation throughput targets across assigned sites.
  • Coordinate with the FSM and Program teams to streamline execution.

Travel rhythm

  • 75–100% travel required (full deployment model), primarily within your local region, with some out-of-town assignments.
  • Frequent movement between project locations regionally or nationwide.
  • Extended stays near active projects are common (often weeks at a time).
  • Flexible scheduling for night or weekend work and accelerated timelines driven by client deadlines.

What you bring

  • 2+ years of hands-on field service, installation, or technical work.
  • Strong mechanical, electrical, and general technical troubleshooting skills.
  • Comfort working independently in changing site conditions.
  • Willingness to travel extensively and adapt to variable environments.
  • Proven experience following SOPs and maintaining strict safety practices.
