Signage Fabrication & Install Operations Manager

Signage Fabrication & Install Operations Manager

Company: Signarama Houston
Location: Houston, TX
Type: Full-time, on-site
Schedule: Monday–Friday, with occasional early starts

A day in the life

You arrive early to walk the floor. Overnight print runs are checked, the CNC queue is verified, and trucks are staged with hardware, permit packets, and lift checks. You huddle with design, production, and install leads to clear bottlenecks. By mid-morning, you’ve released two local install crews, confirmed an out-of-state subcontractor’s schedule, and closed the loop on a punch list from yesterday’s service call—with completion photos already in hand. After lunch, you’re coaching a new hire on safe laminator operation, reviewing a maintenance ticket for the router, and adjusting capacity so the month’s closing jobs hit target. Before you head out, you confirm QA for tomorrow’s channel letter set and make sure the invoice trail is ready after installation.

What you’ll lead

  • Orchestrate every job from receiving → design → permitting → production → QA → scheduling → installation → invoicing—keeping momentum at each handoff.
  • Build and manage daily/weekly schedules for local install crews and service technicians; stage trucks with all required materials and documentation.
  • Run out-of-town work through trusted subcontracted installers nationwide—from install packages to verified completion photos.
  • Keep shop equipment (wide-format printers, CNC router, plotters, laminators) and the vehicle fleet in top condition through preventive maintenance and rapid repair to minimize downtime.
  • Hire, train, and coach production staff while enforcing a safe, clean, and efficient shop.
  • Plan capacity against jobs expected to close and drive the team to meet monthly production and revenue goals.
