Field Services Technician (CDL Required)

This is a field role: the work happens at customer and job sites rather than at a single worksite, and you will be based within driving distance of the job location. Travel varies by assignment; the details are shared for each project.

Sesame Solar is seeking a resourceful, experienced, and road-ready Field Services Technician to transport, deliver, and commission our innovative mobile Nanogrid systems for customers nationwide. Beyond deployment and field service, this role acts as a primary brand ambassador by representing Sesame Solar at trade shows, industry events, and live product demonstrations.

This position requires a hands-on, jack-of-all-trades problem solver who thrives in tough, unpredictable field environments. You will need a solid foundational understanding across electrical power systems, renewable energy components, and mechanical/trailer fabrication. Whether you are hauling a Nanogrid to a client site, conducting formal customer handover and training, troubleshooting a power issue with limited tools on hand, or setting up a high-profile trade show demo, your adaptability and professionalism are critical. A valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and willingness to travel 50% or more are strictly required

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

2. Resourceful Field Troubleshooting & Repair

  • **High-Pressure Problem Solving: **Rapidly diagnose and resolve electrical, mechanical, or structural malfunctions in tough, outdoor, or remote environments.
  • **Improvised & Mobile Repairs: **Execute safe, effective repairs and practical workarounds using a mobile field service kit or limited tools on hand when a full manufacturing shop is not available.
  • **Engineering Feedback Loop: **Communicate field diagnostics, schematic updates, and long-term repair solutions back to the in-house engineering and production teams in Jackson, MI.

3. Multi-Disciplinary Maintenance (Electrical, Mechanical & HVAC)
