Equipment Reliability Lead — Food Manufacturing

In Brockton, MA, our Equipment Reliability Lead partners with Production, Sanitation, Logistics, and Maintenance leadership to keep a USDA facility safe, compliant, and running at peak performance. You’ll report to the Sr. Maintenance Manager and take the helm when the Maintenance Supervisor is away.

Your impact

  • Own daily priorities: schedule repairs, maintenance, and installations to guarantee production readiness.
  • Lead multi-craft troubleshooting on packaging lines—wrappers, checkweighers, cartoners, case packers, UPC barcoding systems, box/erectors, and conveyors.
  • Diagnose, test, and repair 110/230/460V electrical systems (motors, starters, relays, timers, panels, breakers, conduit, wiring); read and apply electrical control schematics.
  • Handle minor PLC programming and fault-finding to restore operations fast.
  • Train colleagues on lifts and welding safety; mentor wastewater technicians and provide extended vacation coverage.
  • Fabricate parts and modify equipment as needed; dismantle/reassemble assets for cleaning, lubrication, and planned maintenance.
  • Coordinate contractor activities; assist with scheduling and oversight during planned outages.
  • Keep the plant in compliance with city and fire regulations; uphold a clean, safe environment for employees and visitors.

What you’ll need to succeed

  • High school diploma or equivalent; strong communication (written and verbal) and basic math.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems in USDA or FDA food manufacturing.
  • Self-motivated, dependable, safety- and quality-focused; bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Proficiencies

  • Motor replacement/repair/maintenance.
  • Preventive maintenance and inspection methods.
  • Broad maintenance and repair capabilities across plant assets.

Technology

  • Programmable Logic Controller (PLC)

  • Availability to support a 24/7 operation on varying shifts.
