Industrial Coatings Line Material Handler

Location: Waukesha, WI

Reports to: Manufacturing Supervisor

Schedule: Monday – Thursday, 3pm – 1am

You arrive on the production floor just before 3pm. The paint booth hums to life, carts are queued, and work orders are ready. You scan the first ticket, stage the right parts, secure the lifting gear, and guide each load safely to and from the booth. By the end of the shift, every unit is counted, banded, and moving to its next stop—because you kept the line flowing.

Role Snapshot

In this role, you support our paint/finishing operation by loading and unloading racks, packing, and moving materials to and from the paint booth in alignment with defined procedures and safety practices.

What You’ll Do

  • Interpret work orders and oral direction to determine which parts to stage, load, or unload near the paint booth.
  • Attach appropriate lifting devices to materials and move loads to designated locations.
  • Accurately count pieces and document the number of units moved.
  • Stack or assemble materials, create bundles, and apply bands to secure them.
  • Lift heavy items manually or with a power hoist/overhead crane, following safety guidelines.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience with forklifts and/or overhead cranes preferred.
  • Physical capability to routinely lift and move up to 50 lbs, and occasionally more than 100 lbs when turning parts over, depending on the part being painted.
  • Clear, respectful communicator with strong teamwork skills.
  • Proficiency in material handling is a plus.
