Field Structural SMAW Welder

Field Structural SMAW Welder – East Texas base, projects nationwide

Picture your day starting at a field site: hood down, arc struck, and a solid root pass tying into a clean bevel you prepped from the drawings. You’ll move between fabrication and field installs, reading blueprints, fitting components, and verifying measurements before laying in code‑quality welds. When the lift plan calls for it, you’ll rig safely, signal a crane, or hop on a forklift to position material. Then you’ll button up the work area so the next shift steps into a clean, safe zone.

What you’ll do

  • Perform SMAW/STICK welding to specification with consistent, high‑quality technique
  • Interpret and work from blueprints and schematics to cut, fit, and assemble metal parts
  • Operate material handling equipment (cranes and forklifts) in accordance with safety procedures
  • Maintain a tidy, hazard‑free worksite and follow all safety protocols

What you bring

  • Hands‑on experience with MIG and STICK welding; TIG experience is a plus
  • Ability to pass the 6010/7018 vertical & horizontal X‑ray weld test
  • Comfort working at heights and climbing ladders
  • Background in construction or manufacturing preferred
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to travel wherever projects are located across the USA
