Industrial Maintenance Technician — Mechanical Systems

A day in this role

You start your shift by scanning the preventative maintenance queue, then head to the floor to support a quick changeover. A noisy gearbox demands attention—you isolate the equipment, dismantle the housing, swap a worn component, and bring the line back up. Minutes later, a hydraulic cylinder underperforms; you trace pressure readings, adjust, and restore full function. All day long, your methodical inspections, cleaning, lubrication, and adjustments keep production running smoothly and safely.

What you’ll do

• Install, maintain, modify, repair, rebuild, and troubleshoot plant and facility machinery and systems
• Execute preventive maintenance to anticipate and resolve issues before they lead to failure
• Inspect, clean, lubricate, adjust, and repair equipment to sustain optimal performance
• Partner with production to perform efficient machine setup and equipment changeovers
• Dismantle malfunctioning machines to access components and make precise repairs
• Replace or fit new mechanical parts and assemblies as required
• Diagnose problems in mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems and correct them
• Maintain a safe, orderly workspace and adhere to all company safety protocols
• Respond rapidly to maintenance calls to reduce downtime

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of hands-on maintenance experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting performing PMs, diagnostics, and repairs
• OR equivalent technical schooling, certification, or formal maintenance training
• Strong mechanical aptitude with proven troubleshooting ability
• Background in repairing and maintaining industrial machinery
• Working knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, temperature and pressure gauges, and mechanical systems/components
• Ability to interpret technical manuals, schematics, and maintenance documentation
• High attention to detail and a strong commitment to safety

Preferred

• Experience in high-speed manufacturing or packaging operations
• Exposure to welding, fabrication, or electrical troubleshooting
• Familiarity with PLC troubleshooting is a plus
