Founding Engineer / Product Engineer

About the Role

An early-stage B2B SaaS company building an AI-native intelligence layer for strategic procurement is looking for a Founding Engineer / Product Engineer. The world's largest industrial companies spend billions on sourcing, yet their category managers still operate on fragmented data, manual analysis, and gut feel. This company is replacing that with AI agents that transform procurement into a true cognitive function.

You'll be one of the earliest engineers on the team, working in person in Berlin, with direct influence over the product, architecture, and customer experience. Enterprise customers are already asking for capabilities faster than the team can build — this role directly expands what's possible and how quickly.

What You'll Do

  • Build end-to-end features spanning UI, backend services, and LLM/agent integrations — wherever the problem takes you.
  • Prototype rapidly, iterate based on real customer feedback, and ship production-grade features with speed and quality.
  • Design and implement sophisticated agent pipelines while making that complexity completely invisible to the end user.
  • Sit close to real users — translate their behavior and feedback into experiences that genuinely land.
  • Own features from UX through backend logic to prompt design, with direct impact on the highest-value customers.
  • Navigate ambiguity with sharp instincts, creative problem-solving, and relentless execution — there's no playbook.

What We're Looking For

  • Required: Strong proficiency in full-stack TypeScript.
  • Genuine skill at working with LLMs — prompting, tuning, and integrating them into compelling, production-ready experiences. Demonstrated through work, side projects, or hackathons.
  • Strong product taste and creative instincts for what makes a great user experience.
  • High agency and outcome-driven mindset — you don't wait for permission, you find a way.
  • Comfort working across the full stack: frontend, backend, and prompt/agent workflows.
  • Curiosity, perseverance, and a track record of building things that matter, regardless of experience level.
  • Excited to work in person with the team in Berlin.

We're open to all experience levels (roughly 1–10 years). What counts most is mindset, craft, and demonstrated ability to ship.

Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: €90,000 – €140,000 per year, depending on experience.
  • Early-stage equity opportunity as a founding team member.
  • Direct impact on product direction and company trajectory.

Location

This is an on-site / hybrid role based in Berlin, Germany. The team works together in person and values in-office collaboration.
