PDS Tech is seeking a Calibration Technician II to join a growing team dedicated to precision, quality, and reliability. Location: Wichita, KS

Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM–5:00 PM (1st Shift)

Pay Rate: $20.48/hour

Position Type: Temp-to-Hire

About the Role

As a Calibration Technician II, you'll calibrate, troubleshoot, repair, and certify a wide range of electronic and mechanical test equipment used in critical applications. Your expertise will help ensure equipment performs accurately, meets quality standards, and remains compliant with calibration requirements.

This role is ideal for candidates with experience in electronics, instrumentation, metrology, calibration, military PMEL/TMDE environments, or technical repair work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Calibrate, troubleshoot, and repair electronic and mechanical test and measurement equipment

  • Perform inspections and verify equipment compliance with calibration standards

  • Diagnose issues involving:- AC/DC electrical systems

    • RF equipment
    • Temperature and humidity instruments
    • Pressure and torque devices
    • Dimensional measurement equipment
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, technical drawings, and calibration procedures

  • Document calibration results, repairs, and service activities accurately

  • Maintain calibration records and support audit readiness

  • Follow ISO quality standards, work instructions, and laboratory procedures

  • Utilize Microsoft Excel and computerized systems to record and analyze data

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment

  • Collaborate with team members while effectively managing individual assignments

  • Calibrations and repairs are completed accurately and on schedule
  • Equipment consistently meets required performance and quality standards
  • Documentation is complete, precise, and audit-ready
  • Quality and safety procedures are followed without exception
  • Customers and internal teams receive reliable, properly calibrated equipment
  • Technical issues are resolved efficiently with minimal rework

Qualifications

Required

  • Associate degree in Electronics or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience calibrating and/or repairing electronic or mechanical test equipment
  • Working knowledge of AC/DC electrical circuits
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical documentation
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and computer-based documentation systems
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to lift up to 33 pounds

Preferred

  • Experience with ISO 17025 Quality Management Systems
  • Knowledge of measurement uncertainty calculations
  • Commercial or military PMEL/TMDE experience
  • Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting expertise
  • Experience working with RF, temperature, pressure, torque, or dimensional measurement equipment
  • Background in electronics repair, instrumentation, calibration, or metrology
